Special Events for 2013 at Disney World



November 29-December 30: Candlelight Processional, America Gardens Theatre, Epcot. This holiday event features a full orchestra and choir with a special celebrity guest narrator each night. The story of the baby in the manger has touched the heart of generations. You can reserve your seats when you purchase a Candlelight Dinner Package (lunch or dinner plus VIP fireworks viewing);otherwise seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

November 28-December 1: Old Spice Classic – Division 1 Men’s Basketball Tournament, ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. This is a 12-game early season Division 1 college basketball tournament held over Thanksgiving weekend. Eight participating teams compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket format. Games will be televised live on the ESPN family of networks. Special travel packages and theme park ticket offers are available at the Old Spice Classic website.

November 29-December 30: Holidays Around the World, Epcot World Showcase. Share in the holiday traditions from around the world as costumed performers share their country’s holiday heritage. At the American Adventure meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, celebrate Hanukkah, discover Kwanzaa. Canadian lumberjack Nowell goes on his yearly adventure to find Santa. Celebrate the Chinese New Year with the Monkey King. Learn about the French custom of filling shoes by the fireplace with carrots. Delight in the legend of St. Nicholas and the first Christmas tree at Germany. The kind-hearted Italian witch La Befana arrives on the eve of Epiphany to grant gifts to good children. At Japan discover the tradition of O’Shogatsu and the Daruma doll. Commemorate La Navidad with the Three Kings at Mexico. A Moroccan drummer tells the story of the Festival of Ashura and Ramadan. Learn about Julenissen, Norway’s Christmas Gnome. Hear the stories of Father Christmas, dating back to 15th-century England, at United Kingdom. November 8-December 20: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Magic Kingdom. Held select nights in November and December. Revel in the yuletide magic with festivities and holiday music that fills the air. Wave to your Disney friends and Santa Claus at the “Once Upon a Christmastime” parade down Main Street U.S.A. Goofy, Donald and others present their own version of The Nutcracker. Your favorite rides will be open. And much more. The park closes early to regular guests. A special event admission ticket must be purchased to attend. Buy early for a discount.
